State Auditor Lydia York will headline a special Primary Kickoff meeting of the 14th Representative District Democratic Committee Sept. 14. Held on the eve of the Primary Election, York will discuss early voting patterns in Delaware and her own re-election campaign to increase transparency and accountability in state government.
The program will include a mini-course on election security for campaign volunteers and poll workers—the first of its kind for 14th RD committee members.
The event will begin at 5 p.m. with a Dutch treat dinner, followed by the two presentations at 6:00, and committee business at 6:30. All registered Democrats are welcome to participate, with the location of the meeting provided to those who RSVP by Sunday, Sept. 13, to de14rddems@gmail.com.
York, the first African-American woman elected to an executive office in Delaware, is running on a platform to fight waste, fraud and abuse in how taxpayer dollars are spent. Her office serves as a watchdog over state agencies, conducting audits of government programs and investigating allegations of fraud. Having earned a law degree, MBA, bachelor’s degree in accounting and CPA license, York has brought her considerable academic and professional experience to the auditor’s office since 2023.
