Rehoboth Beach, Del., Oct. 1, 2026 – U.S. Sen. Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-DE) will discuss the unpredictable final sprint to the midterms at the next meeting of the 14th Representative District Democratic Committee Oct. 12. The first woman and first African American to represent Delaware in both chambers of Congress, Blunt Rochester will recount her own journey to Washington and rally committee members who will be working to get out the vote across Delaware through Election Day in November.
The program will begin at 5 p.m. with a Dutch treat dinner at a Rehoboth restaurant, followed by Blunt Rochester’s presentation at 6:00, and committee business at 6:30. All registered Democrats are welcome to participate, with the location of the restaurant provided to those who RSVP by Sunday, Oct. 11, by clicking the link below.
Blunt Rochester was raised in Wilmington, Del., the daughter of an educator who became President of the Wilmington City Council. She served in the cabinets of two Delaware governors, breaking barriers as Secretary of Labor, Deputy Secretary of Health and Social Services, and State Personnel Director.
In the U.S. Congress, Blunt Rochester led the charge to lower seniors’ health care costs, pass legislation to bring American manufacturing jobs home, and expand access to clean air and water. In the Senate, she has continued leading on workforce issues, the future of work, and building an economy that ensures families earn a living wage. She currently sits on four committees that cover everything from health and education to housing, banking and AI regulation.
