As the local arm of the Delaware Democratic Party we represent Rehoboth, Dewey & southern Lewes. We meet on the 2nd Wed. of the month
I attended the State Party Executive Committee meeting this evening and Betsy made the announcement and asked that RD Chairs send the attached letters to their committee members. Thank you Betsy for all that you have accomplished during your time as State Party Chair.
Jeff
Dear Friends,
It has been an honor to serve as State Party Chair for the last four plus years. Added on to my time as Vice Chair, New Castle County Chair, and countless other positions, so much of my life has been spent with you and our party. Now, it is time to let others lead. I will not be seeking a second term at the state convention.
During my term, the election of our own Joe Biden as U.S. President was the culmination of the hard work and tenacity of many Delaware Democrats during the pandemic. In 2024, Delaware made history by electing its first woman and person of color to the United States Senate, Lisa Blunt Rochester, and the first openly trans person to the United States Congress, Sarah McBride. Thanks to your work, Governor Matt Meyer and Lt. Governor Kyle Evans Gay are serving with strong Democratic majorities in both chambers of the General Assembly--something unheard of when I first started attending party meetings. Moreover, Democrats hold the positions of Attorney General, State Auditor, State Treasurer and Insurance Commissioner. We continue to make strides in challenging Republican incumbents with candidates that exemplify the values of our party. In fact, Delaware Democrats prevailed in flipping seats in both New Castle and Sussex counties.
I am proud of my many years of service and all we have done together. We are a diverse party united in a shared mission and values to recruit, select, and elect Democrats. We are committed to improve the lives of working people and protecting everyone's rights against today's unprecedented assaults. We must continue to this fight. I look forward to being there with you.
Warm regards,
Betsy Maron

Rehoboth Beach, Del., April 1, 2025 – Lieutenant Governor Kyle Evans Gay will be the featured speaker at the April 9 meeting of the 14th Representative District Democratic Committee. The program will begin at 5 p.m. with a Dutch-treat dinner at Iron Hill Brewery on Route 1 north of Rehoboth Beach, followed by Evans Gay’s remarks at 6 and committee business at 6:30.
A former state senator from the 5th District in North Wilmington, Evans Gay will discuss the goals and challenges of the new Democratic administration. After receiving a law degree from Boston University, Evans Gay began her career as a Delaware Deputy Attorney General and clerk in the Delaware Superior Court. She then worked in private practice and performed pro bono work on behalf of children in foster care. Recently, she volunteered with several Delaware nonprofits, led both professional and civic organizations, and served on Delaware’s Public Integrity Commission.
